Two young swedish women meet in Berlin by chance and set out on a search for traces in the unknown yet familiar lands of childhood. On a journey from Scania to Lapland they dig for the answers to existential questions. They both seek and find connections with German history. No elks. No IKEA. But friendly and extraordinary characters, showing them the way home. A pleasurable roadmovie about roots, rootlessness and the meaning of life.
Johanna Aust and Louise Berg are born in Sweden and have both studied at the University of Arts in Berlin, Germany. They are active internationally as filmmakers, photographers and artists. This is their first coproduction.
